Brand New for March 2011, these are Maxxis' ground-breaking sports-touring radial tyres specially developed for European weather and road conditions, using Maxxis industry-leading Virtual Intelligent Prototyping.
The Diamonds feature aggressive central channels maximising water dispersal and a novel diamond-shaped shoulder tread pattern, combining micro-pore technology with Maxxis' new Ultra-Tread compound to deliver outstanding levels of traction both in dry and wet conditions.
The Ultra Tread compound features high levels of silica, combined with natural rubber, sulphur and carbon black to ensure longevity.
Fuel efficiency is improved by its lower rolling resistance, achieved through a combination of carcass development and chemical compound advances.
Maxxis’ Diamond carcass has been developed to equalise pressure distribution, minimise distortion and increase the tyre's contact area by 10% at 35 degrees, increasing cornering stability, a result of which cornering camber angle can be increased by up to 10 degrees.
Increased stability at high speed is ensured by the Diamond's unique high-tension carcass construction, incorporating jointless mono-spiral Kevlar belts to increase carcass strength and maintain uniformity under extreme load conditions.
With new, stiffer side walls, the MA-3DS Diamond maintains its handling characteristics under typical loads for touring applications without compromise of handling or performance.

(....considering how wet it was and how hard the compound is (for extra road mileage) I was pretty impressed by the wet grip on offer. The tyres even managed to get warm to the touch despite scything their way through deep, standing water), or Fast Bikes Mag
